Redesign the World competition terms and conditions

1. General

The organiser of the competition is Dezeen Limited of 8 Orsman Road, London, N1 5QJ, United Kingdom (Dezeen). Dezeen is the world's most popular architecture and design magazine and provides content related to the architecture, interiors and design industries, as well as supplying recruitment advertising via its Dezeen Jobs website and organising the Dezeen Awards programme.

BY SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY, YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM.

2. The competition

2.1 Dezeen's Redesign the World competition calls for new ideas to redesign planet Earth to ensure it remains habitable long into the future. Entrants are asked to rethink what the planet looks like and how it works and present their concept using Epic Games' architectural visualisation tool Twinmotion.

3. How to enter

3.1 The competition will run from 11:00 BST on 28 July 2021 (the "Opening Date") to 23:59 BST on 15 September 2021 (the "Closing Date") inclusive.
3.2 All competition entries must be received by Dezeen by no later than 23:59 BST on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
3.3 Enter the competition online by submitting to the online entry form available at www.dezeen.com/redesign-the-world-entry-form by the Closing Date. No other method of submitting entries will be submitted.
3.4 Dezeen will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are incorrectly submitted regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
3.5 Dezeen's decision as to whether an entrant (or their entry) is eligible for this competition is final and we are not obliged to provide any reasons for disqualification.
3.6 By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any of the terms and conditions, do not take part.

4. Jury

4.1 Entries will be judged by a jury comprising Marcus Fairs, editor-in-chief and founder of Dezeen, and Belinda Ercan, Twinmotion product marketing and strategy at Epic Games, alongside a selection of industry experts that will be announced on Dezeen in August.
4.2 The decision of the jury will be final.

5. Eligibility

5.1 Entrants must be over the age of 18 to enter. The competition is free to enter and all applicants over the age of 18 are invited to participate, regardless of whether they are professional designers and architects, non-designers, students or teams.
5.2 Entrants may enter more than one design, if they wish. However, entrants will need to fill out and submit a separate entry form for each design they submit.
5.3 Dezeen reserves the right to disqualify an entry if it becomes apparent that a submission is inaccurate or if Dezeen or the jury have any uncertainty about the integrity of the entry.
5.3 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. Dezeen may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
5.4 Dezeen reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
5.5 All submissions must include an image and video of the concept created using Epic Games' architectural visualisation tool Twinmotion.

9. Claiming the prize

9.1 Dezeen will make reasonable efforts to contact the Finalists. If a Finalist cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within 30 days of the Announcement Date, Dezeen reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
9.2 Dezeen does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

10. Limitation of liability

10.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, Dezeen, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Finalists or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Dezeen, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

11. Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights
