Design Indaba update

Here are some photos of the Design Indaba sunset cocktail party held yesterday afternoon at 4th Beach, Clifton in Cape Town.

Attended by speakers, press and VIPs, the party allowed everyone to get to know each other and relax a bit before the conference kicks off today.

Michael Young (top image) was there, even though he's not speaking at Design Indaba, because he happens to be in town this week.

Absentees included the Front girls, who were stuck in their hotel room emailing things to Japan.

Interesting gossip we picked up at the party includes the fact that biannual Lisbon-based design extravaganza Experimenta has been cancelled this year due to the withdrawal of its funding.

Apologies for the missing names in the captions - we'll add them as soon as we've worked out who everyone is and checked our spelling.
