OLIVETTI AT MEDPI 2007

At the Monaco show, Olivetti exhibits its latest innovations for SOHO users and consumers, from multi-function printers to ink-jet fax
Principality of Monaco, 29 May 2007 – Once again this year, Olivetti, the Telecom Italia Group company active in the information & communications technology sector, is taking part in Medpi, the technology tradeshow for Mass Merchandisers and Retailers, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco from 29 May to 1 June.

The Olivetti stand displays a selection of products designed to serve the office automation needs of small offices and professionals: multi-function printers, ink-jet fax, desktop calculators, desktop copiers.

Medpi 2007 marks the debut of the new multi-function printers LINEA Office and LINEA Office wifi, two exclusive creations by international designer Jasper Morrison. The LINEA printers feature special hi-tech cartridges with a larger number of ink nozzles to boost operating speed and deliver outstanding quality and definition.

The LINEA Office and LINEA Office wifi “4 in 1" models with print, copy, scan and fax functions come with a 35-page automatic document feed to optimise copy and fax jobs. The LINEA Office wifi provides Ethernet for printing in network environments and is Wi-fi enabled, making competitively priced state-of-the-art connectivity available for even the smallest offices. The LINEA Office wifi also offers impressive printing speeds, 31 pages per minute in black and white, 28 pages per minute in colour.

For the consumer market, Olivetti is showing its SIMPLE_WAY range of multi-function compact printers with print, copy and scan functions, designed by James Irvine and Alberto Meda. One of the highlights is the new SIMPLE_WAY Photo, for users requiring special photo print functions. Equipped with a memory card reader, 2.4" LCD display and Pictbridge connectivity, the SIMPLE_WAY Photo delivers a print speed of 25 pages per minute on both b/w and colour jobs. It also prints photos in standalone mode. A Magic Button function provides automatic enhancement of image quality.

The stand is also exhibiting the MY_WAY plus, a portable photo printer that can be used anywhere. Designed by IDEO, this model prints directly from digital cameras via a cabled/wireless Pictbridge connection, via Bluetooth, and from cellphones. The device can run on battery power or via an automobile cigarette lighter. Compact (220x162x90 mm) and light (1.6 kg), the MY_WAY plus offers a resolution of 2400 x 1200 dpi (up to 4800 dpi). Images are visualised on a 2.4" 65,000-colour LCD display. Simple software functions and, for automatic results, a Magic Button provide image enhancement.
