Here are some more details from Triflow Concepts:

Triflow Future Talents Design Competition

Launched in 2009, Triflow Future Talents is a design competition in association with 100% Design, which aims to encourage young designers to pioneer a new kitchen or bathroom product.

The competition is open to all UK-based international designers to culminate at this year’s 100% Design fair at Earls Court, London from 23rd – 26th September.

As the manufacturer of the first three way tap to deliver hot, cold and purified water through a dedicated tube in the same spout, we value innovative engineering design. The Triflow Future Talents competition is an opportunity to build upon our own expertise and support emerging design talent.

Triflow Future Talents 2009 Winner

Last year over 80 designs were submitted to Triflow Concepts’ London headquarters. These were then whittled down to a shortlist of five by a prestigious judging panel, comprising of renowned architect Zaha Hadid, editor-in-chief of Wallpaper magazine Tony Chambers, celebrated interior designer David Collins and Times columnist Caroline Roux.

The final five shortlisted entries were displayed on the Triflow Concepts stand at 100% Design with visitors to the stand voting for their favourite entry over the four days. All five designs generated a wealth of interest and received very positive comments, but with 35% of the public vote, the winning design was ‘Trees’ designed by John Walsh.

Following the success of last year’s contest, Triflow Future Talents is set to become an annual event.

How To Enter

This is a fantastic opportunity for young, British international design talent to reach a wider platform in the press and public arenas, and to see the realisation of design into product. We urge all students to visit the website and download an application form. Entries must be submitted by the competition closing date of 4th September 2010.

To celebrate our 30th anniversary Triflow commissioned eminent architect Zaha Hadid to design two new models. We are extremely proud of this collaboration and identify with this architect who consistently pushes the boundaries of architecture and design. The competition with 100% Design comes directly from this tradition of innovation and is an expression of Triflow’s roots and achievements in British brassware manufacturing.
