Competition: five limited-edition timepieces by VOID Watches to be won

Competition: Dezeen has teamed up with Swedish brand VOID Watches to offer five readers the chance to win a limited-edition timepiece (+ slideshow).

Congratulations to the winners! Blaine Lepp from Canada, Veronika Mutalova from Switzerland, Max Hartman from Finland, Igor De la Hoya from Spain and Dawn Pratt from the United Kingdom.

The watch, titled Alp Dweller, is the product of a collaboration between VOID Watches and Feinfracht – a Bern-based brand and design shop founded by Denis Bernet and Tobias Dettwiler.

"It's been a treat to work with Feinfracht on this project as our brands complements each other so well," said VOID Watches founder David Ericsson. "Their aesthetics and no-nonsense approach to design is right in line with how I like to work and the result of our collaboration is a beautiful timepiece."

The watch features a brushed gold stainless-steel case and a monochrome face. Tan-coloured leather was used to create the strap, and is intended to age and change colour over time to a darker shade of brown.

"The design of the Alp Dweller watch is pure and simple. We at Feinfracht love classic elements put in a modern context, the mixture of modern production technics and the use of traditional crafts all mixed up together and combined in one object," said Denis Barnet, founder of Feinfracht.

"That is what the Alp Dweller is all about for me," he continued. "This is a great everyday watch for people who love watches as much as we do. The cooperation with VOID Watches is a big pleasure and an honour for Feinfracht."

VOID Watches x Feinfracht collaboration watch: The Alp Dweller

VOID Watches and Feinfracht first began their partnership in early 2015 when Feinfracht joined Void Watches as one of their retailers. We quickly realised how in sync our approach to design and our aesthetics were and thus began our discussions to do a collaboration project.

For the timepiece we began by building off of VOID Watches' iconic V03D design, we discussed at length how to create an aesthetic that would also represent Feinfracht's approach to design. We worked closely with their founders, Denis Bernet and Tobias Dettwiler, to ensure that this timepiece spoke to both brands.

The Alp Dweller is a classic, modern wristwatch with pared-down details that would be a perfect addition at any watch collection. Encased within the 38mm brushed gold stainless steel case is a powerful, and trusted, Japanese Miyota quartz movement. Aesthetically simple, featuring a white and black colour scale with minimal details and a strap that is Swiss vegetable tanned leather that will age in colour over time to a darker brown.

This is a limited edition timepiece with only 200 pieces created.
