Meta's first in-house AI glasses designs include a Kylie Jenner collaboration

Technology company Meta has released its first in-house-designed AI smart glasses, which the company has touted as more affordable and ergonomic than its previous versions.

The Meta Glasses line encompasses three style types – Meta Adventurer, Meta Fury and Meta Glasses, the latter designed with influencer Kylie Jenner. All have tiny cameras, speakers, and buttons embedded in their frames.

Meta has released its first line of in-house AI smart glasses

The AI smart glasses build on a previous release with Ray-Ban in the fall of last year, the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, which featured a tiny screen cast on the interior of the lens. The first Ray-Ban Meta Glasses were released in 2023.

However, the new line is the first to be branded solely by Meta, signalling the company's foray into independent consumer product design, though the company noted the line was built in partnership with Ray-Ban's parent company EssilorLuxottica.

Influencer Kylie Jenner also designed a pair with the company

The company said the glasses are more ergonomically advanced, with the same technical performance as previous models. Though the release does not include in-glasses screens, as the Ray-Ban collaboration did.

"Meta Glasses push the boundaries on dimensions, weight balance, and interior composition to deliver the same level of technical performance as our best-selling AI glasses," said the company.

The glasses are turned on and off via a switch along one of the arms. Open-ear speakers and six microphones are also integrated into the sides, while two 100-degree ultra-wide cameras are positioned on either side of the frames.

The eyewear is integrated with Meta's newest AI model, Muse Spark, announced in April 2026.

The line is more affordable and sleeker than previous versions

The technology allows wearers to capture photos and video, take calls, and answer research queries via a voice command.

It also has a built-in translation feature, which translates a total of 20 languages, including 14 "new" languages that Meta has recently built into their AI model, such as Arabic and Russian.

The designs offer "distinct silhouettes that suit different faces, moods, and occasions", come in a variety of colourways and lenses and are also water- and dust-resistant.

Jenner's iteration was informed by her own personal style, according to the brand, and is integrated with "Meta AI powered by Kylie's own voice". They also feature details such as a sparkling chime that rings when the glasses are put on and off.

"This is the first time she's been involved in shaping the actual hardware design of an AI glasses product," said Meta.

All three styles charge via an eyewear case that works similarly to a wireless earbuds case, and have a reported eight hours of battery life.

They are also more affordable than the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses current Gen 2, at $299 compared to about $499.

As AI technology progresses rapidly, tech behemoths such as Meta, Google, and Apple have rolled out significant upgrades to their native models, particularly this year.

Google also recently announced it plans to roll out AI glasses later this year in partnership with Samsung and eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, while the company is also pairing with the UK government to develop an AI planning tool.
