This week on Dezeen, we reported on the Lion Green Road housing scheme in Croydon winning the Stirling Prize.
Designed by local studio Mary Duggan Architects with Ruff Architects, the project was named the UK's best new building at a ceremony in London.
Commissioned by Croydon Council, the development contains 157 homes spread across five blocks that are connected by a series of shared green spaces.
Following the win, we discussed the project and its place within the wider Stirling Prize winners on our podcast, Dezeen Weekly.
This week also saw car brand Tesla unveil its flying Roadster at an event in Texas, where the vehicle flipped off a ramp and briefly flew.
The demonstration used compressed-air thrusters that Tesla claimed will enable it to make the world's quickest production car.
In design news, technology brand Apple unveiled HomeView, a device that consolidates the functions of its app products and home-management software into one device.
The seven-inch screen, which can also stand on a base with an integrated speaker, was designed to function as a centralised location for home controls.
Popular projects on Dezeen this week include a rammed-earth visitor centre for the Twelve Apostles in Australia, a monolithic concrete home in India and a cricket pavilion in Dulwich.
