BSc (Hons) Architecture RIBA Part 1 at University of East London

The BSc (Hons) Architecture RIBA Part 1 course at University of East London supports students' development into socially conscious architects with strong theoretical and practical knowledge.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the University of East London's BSc (Hons) Architecture course has been named the second-best architecture school in London by the Guardian University Guide 2025. This ARB and RIBA-accredited Part 1 course prepares students to become creative, socially aware and environmentally responsible architects.

At UEL, we develop both makers and thinkers. Students explore how to design spaces that respond to 21st-century challenges, such as climate change, urbanisation and inequality, through inventive, sustainable and people-centred solutions.

Our hands-on approach encourages experimentation through drawing, model making, digital fabrication and construction, supported by small-group and one-to-one tutorials.

You will study architectural design, history and theory, construction technology, environmental design and digital tools. Reflection and critical thinking are embedded throughout, enabling you to strengthen your design process and technical knowledge.

From day one, you will begin developing your own creative identity, building a professional portfolio that prepares you for work in practice or further postgraduate study. With strong industry connections, state-of-the-art facilities, and a passionate team of tutors, UEL offers a vibrant and supportive environment to launch your career.
