BA (Hons) Interior Design at University of East London

The BA (Hons) Interior Design course at the University of East London supports students in developing a refined interior design practice with an industry-ready skillset.

BA (Hons) Interior Design at UEL offers a dynamic and hands-on education that prepares students for the creative and professional demands of the interior design industry. From day one, you will begin building a comprehensive skillset, including technical drawing, model-making, spatial documentation and digital prototyping. These core competencies are developed alongside your ability to think conceptually and work creatively across a wide range of design contexts.

You will explore interior design in its broadest sense – spanning residential, commercial, retail, exhibition, furniture and set design. Learning is embedded in real-world environments, with frequent site visits across London and strong community engagement projects, particularly in east London.

Whether you are reimagining historical sites or designing new community spaces, you will gain meaningful experience working on live briefs that connect your studies with real clients and social impact.

The course structure supports your growth from foundational skills to professional readiness: Year 1 focuses on drawing, identity exploration, and material experimentation through workshops; Year 2 develops digital software expertise and encourages you to find your own design voice through prototyping; Year 3 centres on live projects and professional practice, ensuring you graduate with a strong portfolio and industry awareness.
