Information Experience Design MA (IED) at The Royal College of Art
The Information Experience Design MA (IED) at The Royal College of Art allows students to produce innovative art and design projects that intend to shape the future.
We provide a space to push the boundaries of what is possible. Our community of non-artists and designers intends to shape the future of art and design and how people think and live. IED projects embrace collective, trans-individual and more-than-human perspectives.
Students have designed a forest-based light installation, a global museum, a podcast fiction, a breathing chair, a VR adventure in a microbiome, an emotionally responsive game for dogs and a wearable that can sense deep time.
Through the programme, students gain a working knowledge of experimental post-digital and cultural systems theory and practice and its influence in society at a variety of scales and from a variety of perspectives.
The course includes five modules: Form and Method, Situated Practice, Making Worlds with Others, AcrossRCA and Independent Research Project.
