The Master in Advanced Architecture at IAAC was launched in 2000 with a clear intention: to create a space for architectural experimentation rooted in research, technology and environmental thinking. 25 years later, it remains one of the institute's clearest expressions of purpose.
Students design through making, testing ideas in real time across scales and disciplines. From regenerative systems and circular strategies to robotics, bio-based innovation and immersive media, the programme encourages a critical and hands-on approach to contemporary challenges.
The Master in Advanced Architecture is structured around a customisable academic model, allowing each student personally to shape their own path. Whether through a 10-month course or extended research-based options, all formats share a common ground: design as a tool for transformation.
Located in the innovation district of Barcelona, the World Capital of Architecture 2026, IAAC offers advanced fabrication infrastructure and a transdisciplinary international community. Scholarships covering 30 per cent to 50 per cent of tuition fees are available to support future students. More information is available on IAAC's website.
At a time of global complexity, the Master in Advanced Architecture invites students to rethink architecture's role and to prototype the world to come.
