Teaching Spatial Design is a creative education course that provides an intensive introduction to the pedagogical principles and practices of spatial design subjects such as architecture, interiors and urbanism. Through a balanced approach of theory and hands-on practice, participants will engage directly with leading academics to share ideas, develop skills and build networks.
This short course is designed for early-career practitioners who are interested in teaching as part of a portfolio career and mid-career practitioners who want to review and renew their creative education practice.
The course is a collaboration between the RCA's School of Architecture and Creative Education MEd department. It has been developed by Gem Barton, senior tutor at RCA Interior Design MA; Sandra Denicke-Polcher, national teaching fellow and associate dean in education at RCA School of Architecture; Chris Mitchel, programme lead of the MEd Creative Education; and Elise Ruffell, tutor at MEd Creative Education.
