During NYCxDesign 2026, Japanese design brand Muji presents Koi Continuum, an installation featuring traditional Japanese carp streamers named koinobori.

Launched under the brand's resource circulation initiative, ReMuji, the installation uses secondhand textile materials to create free-form works of art, expressing how clothes take the time spent with their consumers into a second life.

The project is created by Japanese textile designer Reiko Sudo and French exhibition designer Adrien Gardère, who based their use of koinobiri on a previous installation called Koi Current, which explores children's clothing.

During the festival, the brand hosts weekend workshops that offer visitors the chance to take part in the circulation process, enabling them to make souvenirs from ReMuji fabrics.

ReMuji: Koi Continuum by Reiko Sudo & Adrien Gardère takes place from 14 May to 7 June 2026 at Muji Fifth Avenue, 475 5th Avenue, New York City, New York 10017, USA.
