The Summer Architecture Programmes at Cornell University bring students from around the world together to explore new ideas and contemporary issues in design, expand their creative practices and create portfolio-worthy work. Leading faculty offer an intensive suite of classes covering the fundamentals of architectural practice, history and theory and encourage critical and innovative approaches to visual representation and making with tools at the cutting edge of design.

The Introduction to Architecture Summer Programme for high school students is a virtual programme deeply rooted in thinking through making. Pairing design studios with courses covering history and theory, the programme encourages students to establish a creative and critical design practice inspired by their unique interests and create a body of work suitable for a portfolio. An in-person option for local students is also available.

The Introduction to Architecture Summer Programme for college students is an online programme offering design studios complemented by courses covering history and theory. This immersive curriculum introduces ideas and concepts that help students develop their creative and critical design practices and build their portfolios. 

In-person courses are also available to college-level students who want to deepen their knowledge or sharpen their skills in a specific area of architectural design or theory.
