The Luxury Business course at Sotheby's Institute of Art explores how luxury is defined, marketed and experienced in a global context.
Set in one of the world's luxury capitals, London, UK, this course offers students a unique opportunity to explore iconic locations, from prestigious galleries and boutiques in Mayfair and Chelsea, to the tailors and perfumers of Savile Row and St James's, as well as the luxury experiences offered by the cultural and membership club scene throughout the West End.
Through guest lectures, seminars and guided visits to Sotheby's, luxury brands and independent ateliers, students will examine the multifaceted world of luxury and the dynamics that define its modern identity.
The course investigates the evolution of heritage brands, the valuation and marketing of luxury goods and experiences as well as the impact of digital transformation, sustainability and shifting global markets in the luxury industry today.

What will I learn during this course?
Students will gain practical insights into marketing, valuation and client engagement while strengthening their business skills to develop a successful career in luxury.
What are the requirements?
– All applicants must be at least 18 years old by the beginning of the programme
– Currently enrolled in, or considering enrolling in, an undergraduate university programme
– A minimum 2.5 GPA or equivalent
– An unofficial copy of most current university transcript
– A short personal statement detailing interest in the programme
– Non-native English speakers: a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, TOEFL score of 85 IBT, CEFR score of B2 or a Duolingo score of 120
