Master in Architecture European Urbanisation and Globalisation at University of Luxembourg

The Master in Architecture European Urbanisation and Globalisation course at University of Luxembourg provides students with advanced insights into architecture and the surrounding fields of humanities and social sciences.

School: University of Luxembourg
Course: Masters in Architecture European Urbanisation and Globalisation
Location: Luxembourg
Course dates: September 2022 to June 2024
Application deadline:
15 June 2022

The programme aims to interrogate the agency of architectural design in the production of the whole material ensemble that supports and organises life on the planet.

It positions architecture in a dialectical and multiscalar relationship with urbanisation, globalisation, climate change, technological development and social inequality, aiming to provide research, design and pedagogical tools for critical spatial practice. The Master of Architecture is embedded within the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) at the University of Luxembourg.

With a strong emphasis on research, it promises productive connections with surrounding fields of humanities and social sciences, especially geography, economics, development, history and sociology, but also with neighbouring programmes of engineering.

Thus, the programme introduces a very particular interdisciplinary identity, which distinguishes it from any other study programmes in architecture, and which is deemed necessary to understand and tackle the complex condition of the production of the built environment today.
