School: University of Art and Design Lausanne (ECAL)
Course: Master Product Design
Location: Lausanne, Switzerland
Course dates: September 2022 to June 2024
Application deadline: 8 April 2022

The Master Product Design programme at ECAL is for students wishing to focus on two fundamental aspects of a designer's practice, including personal research and the professional handling of commissions for clients, companies or producers.

As well as the steadily ongoing refinement of design research abilities and practical design skills, the students are confronted with the multifaceted realities of the design business.

From production processes and concepts of efficiency through to the value of design, this Master programme offers the tools to become a successful professional.

Supervised by renowned practitioners and theoreticians, the programme revolves around three basic pillars, including various personal projects developed by the student throughout the curriculum, assignments in cooperation with international companies leading to various productions, and exhibitions and publications in the international press and the drawing up of a Master's thesis.

Students from this programme benefit from a partnership with IMD Business School in Lausanne, allowing them to learn about what is at stake when launching a brand and starting a business.

In order to advise potential candidates, online portfolio reviews will take place on 7 March. Register for this event here.
