Urban Design is a forward-thinking, two-semester post-professional program that delves into the intersection of urban forms, applied technology, climate resilience, ecosystems, landscape and socio-cultural dynamics. The program explores urbanisation from metropolitan to regional and global, addressing climate change and promoting sustainability. Students explore the impact of social and cultural factors on urban spaces and leverage technologies in urban design.
Located in the heart of New York City, the program draws from world-class faculty and active professionals, offering unparalleled access to public and private organisations. Students blend theory with practical experience through field studies locally and in integrated global study abroad programs.
Students engage in case studies to apply new theories and designs to the challenges facing global cities, while mastering tools like advanced urban modelling, data-driven urban processes, urban analytics, AI in urbanism and advanced environmental analysis. Students also explore the historical, physical, social, political and philosophical contexts shaping urban environments.
This full-time program requires 15 credits per semester, with some flexibility and admission is both in spring and fall semesters. The program will provide extensive collaborations with public agencies, civic organisations and global research entities and institutions.
