Performance is the theme of the Design Miami/Basel collectors’ fair in Switzerland next week, with designers including Front, Tom Dixon, Maarten Baas and Max Lamb creating objects live during the event. Update: this project is included in Dezeen Book of Ideas, which is on sale now for £12.
Young British designer Max Lamb, for example, will recreate the making of his Pewter Stool, which was originally cast in the sand of a beach in Cornwall (this series of images).
Maarten Baas will demonstrate how he makes his Clay chairs while Tom Dixon will present a working micro-factory.
Design Miami/Basel also features films, talks (including one chaired by dezeen editor Marcus Fairs) and the presentation of the Designer of the Future Award to Swedish design team Front.
