2008 review: August

Our most popular post in August 2008 was the RAK Gateway project by Norwegian architects Snøhetta. Scroll on for the rest of August's top five...

Second was Asemic Scapes - Rehabilitation Center Rainberg, a concept for a medical rehabilitation centre in the Austrian Alps designed by architecture graduate Sarah Schneider.

Third was Ta Lee Plaza by Dutch architects UNStudio, a department store in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. On completion it was renamed Star Place.

Fourth were Color Rings, pieces of jewellery by Israeli designer Itay Ohaly that are carved from layers of coloured paint applied to a wooden table.

Fifth place went to Capital Hill Residence, a private house in Barvikha Forest close to Moscow, Russia, by Zaha Hadid Architects.
