Next we take a look at our most popular stories from May this year. Number one was a digital clock made of 24 analogue clocks, which spell out the time with their hands, by Swedish designers Humans since 1982.

In second place was a range of boots secured around the leg by a bi-stable metal band, designed by London architect Zaha Hadid for footwear brand Lacoste.

Third most viewed was a concrete residence in Slovenia called House D, designed by Ljubljana practice Bevk Perovic Architects.

Asymptote architects' design for the Yas Hotel, a hotel that straddles a race track in Abu Dhabi, came in fourth. See photos of the completed project here.

Fifth most popular was an undulating double-wall structure built by a robot at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
