llustre.com becomes Fab UK

Dezeen Wire:
just two months after launch, flash-sales site llustre.com has been taken over by American rival Fab to become Fab UK.

llustre.com launched in April and Dezeen's pop-up concept shop The Temporium curated a collection of homeware for it last month.

Here's some more information from Fab UK:

We hope that you think what we've been doing is fab. Now it really is: As of today LLUSTRE.com has joined the Fab family to become Fab UK

This is hugely exciting for us and a fantastic opportunity for all our designer partners.

Fab is the world's leading design marketplace. More than 5 million people in 20 countries turn to Fab for everyday design inspirations and sales.

Like us, Fab is passionate about supporting designers, and they promote exciting emerging talent alongside world class designers: they've featured classics from Herman Miller, they've recently collaborated with Tom Dixon, and they even launched Madonna's latest album. You can read about Fab's growth and core beliefs in this blog post from their founder and CEO, Jason Goldberg. Or, watch this video about how Fab focuses on making people smile. And, here's a brief overview of Fab's creative principles. We're absolutely thrilled to become Fab UK, and to continue to promote the design we love as part of such an exciting, innovative company.

We're absolutely thrilled to become Fab in the UK, and to continue to work with the designers we admire as part of such an exciting, innovative company. We're just as dedicated as we've always been to featuring the very best designed products, and we're looking forward to making Fab as loved in the UK as it is in the US. We'd love to hear from you: how are we doing? Could we improve? How can we better serve the design community? Let us know - we're all ears.

It's been an absolute pleasure working with you so far, and with Fab's unparalleled experience in social commerce together with our imagery, editorial and British sensibility, as Fab UK we'll be offering even greater support to our design partners, and showcasing your fantastic products to an even wider audience.

We'll be recruiting more people to join our team, but the familiar faces you've been dealing with so far are all still here. And because our businesses work along similar lines, there won't be any dramatic changes to how we run sales as Fab UK. We hope you're as excited about this as we are and we look forward to growing with you.
