Dezeen promotion: launching during this year's Milan design week, the Space & Interiors event will explore current trends in interior design from 12 to 16 April 2016.
Described by the organisers as presenting a "new map for living", Space & Interiors was conceived as a way to reinterpret the individual aspects of design for the home, including material finishes, lighting and technology.
An exhibition – called New Components Code – will display designs by a range of manufacturers from floors and wall coverings, to staircases, facade coatings and door handles.
Designed by Migliore + Servetto Architects, the exposition space will feature individual booths with large cases that allow attendees to look at items in more detail.
Taller white stands, resembling the pages of an opened book, will be used to present products. Exhibitors will be able to use an exclusive lounge for business meetings.
During the event, the Cocktail for Architects discussion will allow attendees to put design questions to architects Ferruccio Laviani, Tiziano Vudafieri and Cino Zucchi.
Space & Interiors is connected with the annual furnishing and design event Salone del Mobile Milano, and will take place concurrently from 12 to 16 April 2016.

Milan unveils a new map for discovering home interiors
From 12 to 16 April 2016 Space & Interiors will be stealing the scene during Milan Design Week.
Visitors to Milan Design Week will get an unprecedented opportunity to explore a new map for home interiors at the Nuova mappa dell'abitare exhibit showcasing a cocktail of concepts, materials and solutions for contemporary constructions. Space & Interiors is far more than a ground breaking event placing the makers of architectural finishes in the very heart of the design process, it is in fact a "manifesto" offering the chance to view and interpret the latest trends in interior architecture. The inspired format combines a unique product-oriented display space with an exhibition entitled New Components Code featuring captivating interpretations of the solutions presented by the exhibitors.
"Space & Interiors will be disclosing the various component parts of a series of living spaces, from walls and ceilings to surfaces and materials, suggesting different interpretations and giving the visitor a new map for discovering home interiors, in which every element plays a starring role. Home interiors derive their identity from the relationship between these elements in terms of the expressive, functional and innovative properties of the materials, the technology, the lighting, the acoustics and the tactile experience. Tables, chairs and furnishings take a back seat role in our settings, because it is the relationship between the components of the architectural space that determines the ultimate quality," says Ico Migliore of Migliore + Servetto Architects.
Space & Interiors will thus delve into a narrative encompassing countless different materials produced by a select group of companies that specialise in trail blazing, next-generation components: surfaces, floors, wall coverings, colour and decoration, doors, handles, finishes, storage walls, staircases, architectural glazing, façade and cladding coatings, windows and façades, pergolas, gazebos, curtains, architectural lighting, Domotics, home automation and home entertainment. All this and more will be on hand at this tantalising event that is sure to make a hit with visitors to Milan's exciting Design Week.
Space & Interiors runs from 12 to 16 April at The Mall Porta Nuova, the exclusive state-of-the-art location in the heart of the Brera Design District, and is the only event in downtown Milan that is closely linked to the Milan Salone del Mobile.
