Created and organised by BCD Barcelona Design Centre and the Studio Toormix, the event has the aim of promoting the economic and social value of design, and of creating a meeting, knowledge exchange and debating space for national and international companies, entities and professionals.

Managing director of Barcelona Centre de Disseny Isabel Roig spoke with Design is Future organisers Ferran Mitjans and Oriol Armengou at the 2015 Design is Future event

What are the new roles of designers? How does design promote and impact companies? How does design help to build a better world? These are some of the questions that we will answer in the second Design is Future, Innovation through Design Congresstival, an event which will explore new approaches to design from the perspective of the profession, the company and society, using a format which mixes the concepts of "congress" and "festival".

Pere Rosales, founder of strategy consultancy INUSUAL, also spoke at last year's event

From 6 to 8 June, those attending will be able to enjoy talks, round tables, networking activities and workshops, a programme which will be held in the Disseny Hub Barcelona and which will include the participation of professionals of recognised international prestige who will help to define a new role for designers, present success stories and methodologies which certify the usefulness of design to stimulate companies and make them grow and at the same time how design can make the life of people easier.
