Alan Balfour's seminar on Berlin opens the second day of World Architecture Festival 2016

Architecture writer and academic Alan Balfour reflects on how Berlin became the city it is today in the opening seminar from day two of World Architecture Festival 2016. Watch a live stream of the talk here from 9am UK time.

Balfour is discussing how the vision for Berlin that emerged after the fall of the Berlin Wall has shaped the city that exists today.

Watch a live stream of the talk, which is chaired by World Architecture Festival director Paul Finch, above or on Dezeen's Facebook page.

Yesterday we streamed opening presentations by UNStudio founder Ben van Berkel and filmmaker Hubertus Siegert.

We will be broadcasting a number of other keynote seminars over the next few days from both events – including talks by Patrik Schumacher and Ross Lovegrove – as well as conducting interviews with the winners.

World Architecture Festival takes place from 16-18 November at Arena Berlin. Take a look at the full programme and learn more at: www.worldarchitecturefestival.com.
