Dezeen at IKEA Festival: Faye Toogood creates installation of hacked furniture

London designer Faye Toogood speaks to Dezeen about modifying IKEA flatpack furniture to create her Enfant Terrible installation at IKEA Festival in Milan for our latest video.

Faye Toogood is presenting a mash-up of different furniture pieces, which are displayed alongside a giant chair and a slide.

"I've created my own hybrids and misfits using IKEA furniture," she says in the video. "It's about the connection to a childlike imagination that I'm trying to reconnect to through IKEA products."

For our interview she sat in her oversized chair, which was inspired by the 1970s IKEA lounge she had in her house growing up.

IKEA Festival takes place from 4 to 9 April in a 3,500-square-metre warehouse at Via Ventura 14 in Milan. We're broadcasting video highlights across Dezeen, as well as our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter channels.

Watch the videos as we publish them at www.dezeen.com/ikeafestival.
