Samsung QLED TV with Ambient Mode enhances a home

Entry deadline extended for Dezeen and Samsung's €29,500 TV Ambient Mode competition

Dezeen promotion: the deadline to enter Dezeen and Samsung's competition to create Ambient Mode graphics for the brand's QLED TVs has been extended.

Designers now have until 11.59pm UK time on Sunday 5 August 2018 to enter their submissions.

The competition asks entrants to design a visual experience that displays when Samsung's latest QLED televisions are not in use, making use of the Ambient Mode feature which does away with the black screen when a television is off, and enhances the home environment with imagery and information instead.

Anyone wanting to enter can read the full brief and submit images and video via Dezeen.

The competition has a prize pot of €29,500. It will be judged by graphic designer Neville Brody, industrial designer Erwan Bouroullec, Dontae Lee, head of the design centre at Samsung Electronics, and Dezeen's editorial director Amy Frearson.
