Plein Air tables by Michael Anastassiades for Roda

Dezeen Showroom: designer Michael Anastassiades has brought his refined, minimalist style to the Plein Air outdoor table series, created for Italian brand Roda.

The Plein Air table has a simplified form and "amazes with its style, details and combination of materials and finishes", according to Roda.

Plein Air's silhouette is reduced to a simple, geometric form

The tables have an aluminium frame – available in either a dark smoke or milk finish – with tops made of a single stoneware slab.

This is rendered in two matching shades, called graphite and clay, which Roda says give an "airy and spacious" effect to the surface while complementing the clean lines of the design.

A stone tabletop complements the aluminium frame

"I believe in shapes that are simple and clear," said Anastassiades. "For me, there needs to be a reason behind a shape so I like things that make sense. Geometry is important because I can understand it in simple terms."

Plein Air tabletops are made of at least 40 per cent recycled ceramics, and with aluminium being infinitely recyclable, Roda says the product exemplifies its commitment to sustainable production.

The table is available in four sizes and is made in Italy.
