Lasvit's Dancing Leaves lighting sculpture suspended in a contemporary living room interior

Dancing Leaves lighting installation by Luděk Hroch for Lasvit

Dezeen Showroom: glass specialist Luděk Hroch has created a lighting installation for Czech brand Lasvit that is designed to capture the look of leaves dancing in the wind.

The conception of Dancing Leaves came about as part of a project for the Peninsula Paris Hotel in 2014, which saw Hroch create a glass sculpture resembling the movement of leaves "in the wind, floating and eventually flying away."

Dancing Leaves is a glass sculpture that evokes the movement of falling leaves

"Nature has always been difficult to grasp. Catch the wind, stop the rain, halt the setting sun – these are impossible feats," said Lasvit.

"Glass enables us to balance between the movements of nature and state-of-the-art design."

Each leaf is hand-sculpted and arranged into either a round, oval or conical configuration

Each element of the installation is made from dozens of meticulously rendered glass components, all of which have been refined and hand-sculpted by a master glassmaker.

The installation is part of Lasvit's residential Icons series, which sees its bestselling signature designs reissued in new variations. Amongst the new Icons range are versions of the Dancing Leaves sculpture arranged in either a round, oval or conical shape.

The installation can be made to order and comes in clear, dark amber, light amber and soda finishes

The leaves are available in a number of finishes including clear, dark amber, light amber and soda, which has small bubbles concealed within the glass.

Outside of the Icons range, the Dancing Leaves installation can be custom ordered to create bespoke designs in an array of colours and shapes to match specific user requests.
