Ghia tables by Altherr Désile Park for Arper

Dezeen Showroom: Italian furniture manufacturer Arper has designed a range of versatile tables that are customisable in size, shape and finish.

The series called Ghia is informed by both geometry and the natural world, evidenced by the use of both human-made and naturally sourced materials.

Tables reference man-made and naturally occurring materials

The range includes tables of two different shaped tops and three heights, suitable for use as coffee, end and occasional tables depending on selection.

Base options include a singular central support or three-legged iteration, and table top versions include a small and medium circular or large asymmetrical top.

Tables designed to be a focal point or functional depending on size and finish choice

"The intention was to create a system of low tables that could fit with most of the Arper seating collections, which are primarily contract, but increasingly residential as well," explained Studio Altherr Désile Park.

The design of the tables means they can integrate with existing furniture as either statement or functional pieces.

It can be used alone or clustered with others

"The table can be more in the forefront, or it can fade into the background. It can be subtle, or can be sculptural," it continued.

Ghia tables come in a choice of red clay or moss green painted MDF, oak veneer in natural or black, and dark or light terrazzo top (available for the small table only).
