Dezeen Showroom: Swedish furniture brand Blå Station and designer Johan Ansander have created a cushy upholstered version of the 2021 wooden Maximus easy chair.
Max shares Maximus' stocky, rounded silhouette and size, despite Maximus seeming to appear marginally larger thanks to its plump cushioning.
The chair's thick legs support its low seat, which contains springs and molded foam, giving users a comfortable and laid back chair for lounging.
Fabric is stretched over the foam and meticulously stitched in order to retain its graphic shape.
"Max is the natural evolution of Maximus," according to Johan Lindau, Blå Station's CEO and design manager. "The easy-chair is a laid-back little individual with a distinct personality that is soft and accommodating."
The chairs are available in a wide selection of fabric and leather. Users can send custom fabric directly for more bespoke finishes.
