Diederendirrix Office for Architecture and Urban Planning has designed Van Gough Museum in the Netherlands.

The design concept aims to encapsulate Vincent van Gogh's essence as well as his significant locales, such as a water mill, a farm, and even the hut where the artist found solace.

The museum's interior strikes a balance between simplicity and complexity, using materials in earthy tones that are reminiscent of van Gogh's era.

The building's exterior is entire clay with clay-tiles, a feature the designer intended to blurs boundaries between the walls and roof, beckoning the surroundings inward.

This project has been longlisted in the cultural project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
