Studio Link-Arc has designed the Inverted Architecture: A Mushroom Brick Pyramid installation.

The installation explores the connection between living organisms and architecture, using mycelium as a focal point, consisting of 400 hanging mushroom bricks made from renewable and biodegradable materials.

These bricks were grown using agricultural waste and mycelium, creating a strong and eco-friendly material.

The exhibition space in a converted brewery provides an ideal environment for the mushroom bricks to absorb moisture.

The aim was to establish a symbiotic relationship between architecture and nature, emphasising sustainability and the cyclicality of life.

This project has been longlisted in the installation design category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
