Shanghai United Design Group (UDG) has designed the Panda Tower in Chengdu, China.

The Panda Tower was designed for the Chengdu Panda Planet-Giant Panda Breeding Research Base – intended to be a new cultural landmark integrating viewing, display and sightseeing functions for the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base.

"The area where the project is located not only has superior natural conditions but is also a protection and breeding base for the giant panda, our national treasure," said UDG. "Therefore, in awe of nature, the panda theme naturally became the starting point of our project design."

Since its completion, the Panda Tower has received widespread attention from the media and the public and is said to become a new landmark in Chengdu, according to UDG.

This project has been shortlisted in the civic project category of Dezeen Awards China 2023.
