ATDESIGN has designed the Miwo Hotel in Zhejiang, China.

The Miwo Hotel has a unique geographical environment surrounded by mountains and forests.

"[We] wrapped the building with white paint, like an off-white tree nest," said ATDESIGN. "The structure of the building outlines minimalist and powerful lines, showing the cleanest and clearest state in nature."

The infinity swimming pool serves as a medium connecting the inside and the outside, while through the open block, light shines into the underground space, further emphasising the symbiotic relationship between the spaces.

The seating area is surrounded by columns connected to the top and the curved structure wraps the top surface of the shape as if entering a forest – where guest rooms maximize the outdoor scenery, creating the experience of sleeping in the mountains and forests.

"The name Miwo [was chosen so] the hotel can have the warmth of home and guests from far away can enjoy this beautiful scenery together," added ATDESIGN.

This project has been shortlisted in the hospitality project category of Dezeen Awards China 2023.
