NC Design & Architecture (NCDA) has designed the Artifact Bar in Hong Kong, China.

Artifact Bar is a speakeasy hidden behind a secret passage in BaseHall 2, Hong Kong's newest dining hotspot and high-end food court in the heart of Central.

"Inspired by the repetitive rhythm of surreal geometry and the quiet atmosphere of underground cisterns, Artifact is a mysterious and alluring space that transports guests to a different realm," said NCDA.

In stark contrast to the busy food court outside, guests enter through a secret passage where the walls are concretely textured and the lighting is dim, giving the feeling of entering a secret abandoned industrial wasteland.

In addition, chandeliers resembling surveillance cameras add a touch of intrigue and mystery to the atmosphere.

This project has been shortlisted in the restaurant and bar interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2023.
