Horn Design and Engineering has designed the Yucan office chair and Goodtone manufactured it.

The Yucan office chair is a high-performance task chair with a honeycomb support system as its core.

Inspiration comes from the designer's deep insight into the workplace – the tight hexagonal honeycomb structure on the inside symbolises the reinforced concrete in the city, adding the characteristics of bees to the human body and embodying the beautiful hope of efficient unity.

"The new air layer composite fabric on the outside wraps the silhouette lines, conveying the richness of energy," told Horn Design and Engineering.

Peter Horn, the designer of the Yucan series and Goodtone, the manufacturer, fully considered the balance between aesthetic design and comfortable functions during the design process.

"Every detail, from the overall shape to the connections of metal parts and fabric stitching, has been carefully considered," added Horn Design and Engineering.

In total, it took 10 rounds of fine-tuning and modification to achieve the final result of modern, fashionable appearance and multi-functionality.

This project has been shortlisted in the workplace design category of Dezeen Awards China 2023.
