Advanced Digital Media at Tulane University

The Advanced Digital Media course at Tulane University in New Orleans encourages students to analyse computational and automated methods used in architectural design.

The course draws upon the increasing importance of computation and automation in the design and construction of buildings and cities.

Students will learn how to critically engage with computational paradigms in society and culture, questioning its role in design, analysis, representation, communication, fabrication and assembly.

Through in-person instruction at Richardson Memorial Hall, on Tulane's Uptown campus in New Orleans, students are introduced to 2D and 3D techniques of parametric design, digital fabrication workflows, and digital methods of visualisation, with the emphasis on critical understandings of these tools and how all three elements can synthetically strengthen the architectural design process.
