Floating Boat-Zhougongshan Nanshuige Hot Spring Hotel Conference Center
Big Valley Design has designed the earth-covered building, Floating Boat, as part of the international conference centre of Nanshuige Hot Spring Hotel near the Zhougong Mountain of Ya'an in Sichuan, China.
Ya'an Zhougongshan International Conference Centre is a new multifunctional conference centre built by Ya'an Nanshuige Hot Spring Hotel. The entire building is hidden in the mountains and rivers, nestled between the external public conference space and the hotel supporting space.
The project site is low in the north and high in the south, with a height difference of 25 metres and is surrounded by bamboo forests where two rivers also pass through it. The historical heritage of Zhougong Mountain adds a touch of distant ancient flavour to the site.
"A small bamboo-covered boat, a misty Ya'an and a hidden small building have become our vision for the site," said Big Valley Design.
This project has been shortlisted in the mixed-use project category of Dezeen Awards China 2025.
