Yushe Studio has designed the interiors of Artist, an apartment located in Songjiang, Shanghai, China.
This project was a holistic thinking process from scratch, where the designers first considered how to convey the spatial temperament and usage characteristics, followed by issues such as layout, sunlight, shape, colour, texture and materials.
"The prerequisite for completing this project was to have a particular understanding and analysis of the client themselves," said Yushe.
In the context of the designer's blank space, the geometric blocks were freely matched and the furniture itself seemed to be invisible in the space; only the collision between tangible and colour existed.
Post-design, time, shape, light and colour meet in space to interpret the meaning of art. The design language shapes the owner's way of life into the form of his unique home, providing a calm and comfortable physical and mental residence.
As a result, this residence is a fusion of material and spiritual, natural and simplistic.
This project has been shortlisted in the home interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2025.
