Zhejiang Xizi Hotel | Xiyuan Teahouse
Nova Space Design has designed the interiors of Xiyuan Teahouse at the Zehjiang Xizi Hotel in Hangzhou, China.
In this project, Eastern aesthetics prioritise unrestrained spontaneity and natural beauty, expressed through subtlety and restraint.
In form, the designer drew wisdom from the past to innovate the present, expressing Eastern sensibilities with modern methods to design the teahouse's interiors.
"Auspicious meanings deliver profound emotional resonance, while tea savouring demands dual fulfilment for both spirit and body," said Nova.
As a result, the teahouse's exterior maintains the hotel's unified style with a functional reception space.
This approach creates an environment where visitors experience physical comfort and spiritual serenity, allowing them to better connect with nature, achieve mental balance and ultimately coexist harmoniously with the natural world.
This project has been shortlisted in the leisure and wellbeing interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2025.
