Winner: Material innovation of the year 2025. Yi Design has designed the Regenerated Ceramic Products series using the YiBrick.

Yi Design has launched the innovative YiBrick Permeable Bricks and Regenerated Ceramic YiTiles.

Made primarily from waste ceramic particles, these products achieve a solid waste utilisation rate of 66 to 90 per cent, contain no non-environmental materials like cement or adhesives and can be fully recycled to form a closed-loop ceramic recycling system.

Their porous structure supports sponge city initiatives by alleviating issues such as waterlogging, water scarcity and the urban heat island effect.

By harnessing the instability of recycled materials, the crushed ceramic particles create unique colour variations, making them suitable for facade and floor decorations while integrating environmental sustainability and aesthetic value.
