The Architecture course at the University of Bath focuses on focus on sustainable design thinking, with options for multiple pathways offering work placements.
The University of Bath's new Architecture courses for 2027 entry combine studio-based learning with interdisciplinary collaboration, and sustainable design thinking. Students on our MArch Architecture course can gain up to a year of experience in professional practice through an optional placement.
Students develop their architectural identity through a mix of design studio projects, studies in history and theory, structural and environmental engineering, digital representation and regenerative design. Throughout the courses, students are encouraged to explore how architecture can respond creatively to environmental, cultural and social challenges.
Architecture students at Bath also collaborate with civil engineering students on selected projects, giving insight into integrated design processes and the realities of interdisciplinary practice. Teaching is informed by research and industry experience, with many tutors also working as practising architects.
Based within the University's purpose-built 4 East South building, students have access to dedicated design studios, workshops, digital fabrication facilities and collaborative review spaces.
The Architecture offering includes three pathways for 2027 entry: a three-year Architecture BSc (Hons), a four-year Architecture MArch (Hons) and and a five-year Architecture MArch (Hons) with professional placement.
