British carmaker Jaguar has revealed a glimpse of its upcoming Type 01 electric car, which has a central divider and "on-demand" screens.

The recently released renders show the interior of Jaguar's Type 01 electric car, which will be the production version of the much-discussed Type 00 concept car that was first revealed in 2024.

Jaguar plans to unveil the car this October.

The renders show a sleek, modern interior divided by a central bar that runs the full length of the car. This makes the Type 01 a four-seat car with distinct seating areas for each of the passengers.

Another notable aspect of the interior is the lack of a giant, central screen – commonly seen in modern electric cars.

A small screen is mounted on the central division, while other "digital interfaces are intelligently applied for control on demand".

"Our holistic design philosophy translates the vehicle's exterior presence into a distinctive interior architecture," said Jaguar's chief interior designer Thomas Holden.

"In contrast to the horizontal interior design norm, we emphasise its dramatic longitudinal nature through the central spine – an architectural statement that creates four individual spaces," he continued.

"With authentic materials, technology on demand and reductive flowing surfaces, Type 01 presents unmistakable drama and theatre that will define the modern luxury automotive interior of the future."

A prototype of the Type 01 will be on display at this week's Monterey Car Week.

The car will be the first released by Jaguar as part of its "complete reset" as it moves to electric-only cars. The reset began with a controversial rebrand at the end of 2024.

"Jaguar Type 01 is the first production car to follow our new creative philosophy," said Jaguar managing director Rawdon Glover.

"Unmistakable from every angle, the interior is no different. With Type 01, we wanted every journey to be an occasion, from how it drives to how it looks and how it makes you feel.

"With a confidence-inspiring GT driving position, clean and sophisticated technology and dramatic styling, Type 01 has an interior like no other."

The reset was led by Jaguar Land Rover chief creative officer Gerry McGovern, who departed the company at the end of 2025, a year after the unveiling of the radical Type 00 concept car.
