Flora armchair by Andreas Engesvik for Fogia
Dezeen Showroom: Swedish brand Fogia and designer Andreas Engesvik collaborated with a Michelin three-star chef to create Flora, aiming for it to be “the ultimate dining chair”.
Fogia and Engesvik worked with Esben Holmboe Bang of Oslo restaurant Maaemo on the Flora armchair, which is designed to both look elegant and feel comfortable over long periods of sitting.

“The guiding scenario in creating the Flora armchair was, quite simply, an evening at a world-class restaurant, where you leisurely and contemplatively savour a carefully conceived composition of dishes, prepared with great care and meticulous precision,” said Fogia.
A guiding principle in the creation of Flora was generosity: the seat is wider and slightly taller than most dining chairs, allowing sitters room to move during hours of conversation and enjoyment.

The responsive welded steel frame also adds to the comfort level, while its slenderness gives the chair a sleek aesthetic that fits in within a sophisticated dining space, conference room or hotel lobby.
The Flora armchair is available in a choice of polished, brushed or painted stainless steel. The seat can be upholstered in a choice of fabrics or leathers.
