This week on Dezeen
Dezeen broke the three biggest stories of the London Design Festival this week: the news that graphic designer Peter Saville won the London Design Medal and is working on a new visual identity for Kanye West; and the announcement that the V&A museum has acquired the first 3D-printed gun. Read on for more of this week’s best bits…

Saville spoke about collaborating with the rapper and his graphic design work in the 1980s at Global Design Forum, part of this week’s London Design Festival. We reported both stories live from the forum.

Besides putting the world’s first 3D-printed gun on show – a story that Dezeen published before anyone else – the V&A also hosted an installation of thousands of paper windmills and a spectacular chandelier of coloured glass spheres.

Our readers’ favourites from our LDF coverage include the “world’s lightest timber table” by Benjamin Hubert, Sebastian Wrong’s new furniture venture with Hay and stacking containers to store desktop items by Industrial Facility.

In architecture news, David Chipperfield revealed designs for the world’s largest free-standing museum dedicated to photography for Marrakech and was named as the 2013 Praemium Imperiale architecture laureate.

The most popular stories about buildings featured moody photography, including posts about a concrete holiday home in India and a tiny wooden cabin in Sweden.
