Pentagram has created a navigation product for cyclists designed to optimise their ride.

Beeline Velo 2 is a device that partners with a Bluetooth-connected app and a machine-learning algorithm fuelled by road ratings from cyclists to help find the best cycling routes.

The design encompasses a small form factor, screw-less assembly, full waterproofing and simple twist lock mounting system as well as low production costs, making the device accessible to a wide audience, while the routing algorithm means that for the first time, riders are able to contribute road ratings in real-time while cycling.

This project has been longlisted in the product design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
