Open Funk has created a kitchen mixer to meet the needs of both people and planet.

Remix is made to a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing design that improves the user experience, designed to accommodate glass jars already in the home.

The modular design is made without the use of harmful adhesives and expensive industrial machinery, using durable and largely recycled materials. A large number of the component parts are 3D-printed or CNC-milled, while the product is assembled locally in a centre dedicated to the social participation and professional inclusion of people in need.

Users are encouraged to repair and upgrade their mixer with the help of guided video tutorials and a product passport, while those no longer using their machine can sell it back, for it then to be refurbished for future use.

This project has been shortlisted in the sustainable design category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
