AYDC Public Art Center

Atelier Xi has designed the AYDC Public Art Center, a cluster of sculptural spaces thoughtfully dispersed throughout the landscape of Guiyang, China.
The AYDC Public Art Center is a constellation of sculptural spaces – Xima Library, Ginkgo Chapel and Dali Stage – dispersed across Guiyang's landscape.

Inspired by Guizhou's native caves, each pavilion emerges from the terrain as a poetic interplay of form, light and nature.

Crafted from porous travertine and stainless steel, the structures invite wind, light and seasonal change to shape an immersive experience.

Designed for reading, performance and reflection, the centre fosters independent artistic gatherings while seamlessly integrating architecture with local memory, natural rhythms and public life – redefining architecture as a medium for community, imagination and sensory connection.

This project has been shortlisted in the public project (arts, culture and community) category of Dezeen Awards China 2025.
