Winner: Hotel and short stay interior of the year 2025. SZ-Architects has led the interior design of the Lost Villa Lighthouse Hotel, a hotel project situated on Huanglong Island in Zhoushan City, China.
As a leading domestic brand in the boutique lodging industry, Lost Villa aimed to boost the island's tourism economy through this project on Huanglong Island in Shengsi, thereby enhancing the income of local residents and creating a positive economic cycle, in line with Lost Villa's consistent Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) philosophy.
The hotel is situated next to the old lighthouse in Dongzuitou Village, Huanglong Township, surrounded by the sea on three sides, adjacent to rocky landscapes and the view of Chiboshan, offering a 270° unobstructed sea view.
Covering an area of over 4,000 square metres, this project took six years to complete.
Inspired by the unique rocks of Huanglong Island and centred on "coexisting with nature," the architecture is embedded at the top of the rocks, preserving the historical traces of the lighthouse.
